Let’s be real: Blog Stretch Shake is the product of post-college boredom and poverty.
Abby and Adam are two recent transplants to the East Coast from the Midwest. They met in college, when Adam was amused by Abby’s decision to wear an argyle sweater vest to a Kanye West concert and Abby was amused by Adam’s decision to drink before said concert. Now they both enjoy sweater vests and drinking before (and during, and after) concerts. Oh, and blogging. They both enjoy blogging. About music, movies, and anything that even tenuously fits under the ever-vague umbrella of “culture.”
The blog’s name is inspired by/a direct rip-off of the immortal maxim of Harlem’s own Ma$e: “Breathe, stretch, shake/ Let it go,” which, no foolin’, Abby used to have posted over her desk at a previous (wearisome) job. It’s really good advice, when you think about it (and much less sad than those “inspirational” posters of kittens about to fall off of tree branches [Hang in there!]).
If only Blog Stretch Shake can be half as inspirational to you as Ma$e is to us, well, consider our mission accomplished.
